Despite my best intentions, you’ve likely noticed a gap between blog entries over the past several weeks. Between the holidays & normal end of the year activities, the staff at LRLT had a busy end to our year with the completion of our seventh conservation easement. The addition of the donated conservation easement on Bob & Ginny Chewning’s Trout Creek Ranch in the Pahsimeroi Valley brings our total number of acres conserved to 7,611. We encourage you to check out the Trout Creek Ranch page on our website to learn more about this fantastic property.
So with 2012 behind us, what do we have on the docket for 2013? EIGHT, that’s right, EIGHT new projects will be in progress or beginning in 2013. These projects include four purchased conservation easements, two donated conservation easements and two restoration projects. Additionally, in September of 2013, we will be submitting our application to become an accredited land trust. This voluntary, in-depth process is designed to recognize land conservation organizations that meet the highest standards for protecting these lands in perpetuity.
