While Friday wasn’t a great day for a field trip, the University of Idaho’s Integrated Range Management class braved the weather & spent the afternoon with us on our Mabey Lane & Eagle Valley Ranch conservation easements. The students had the chance to see the freshly completed Mabey Lane restoration project & learn about some of the technical aspects of the project from Stewardship Coordinator, Breann Westfall.
Following that we traveled to Eagle Valley Ranch where Mike Kossler & Jerry Elzinga talked about the day to day management of the ranch & their grazing practices & unique challenges they’ve encountered, then Executive Director, Kristin Troy, & Outreach Coordinator, Charli Williams talked about LRLT’s work & what goes into completing a conservation easement.
