Brothers Bruce, Dave, and Tom McFarland along with their wives Bonnie, Janet, and Teresa purchased this property on Carmen Creek from their cousins with the goal of expanding their family cattle operation, Carmen Land and Livestock. Lemhi Regional Land Trust purchased the conservation easement of 300 acres of working ranchland in cooperation with The Nature Conservancy. Funds were provided by the Natural Resources Conservation Service, The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and the Page Foundation.The McFarland Family’s goal was to ensure the future agricultural availability of this productive parcel while creating permanent protection for the one mile section of Carmen Creek and its associated habitat for Chinook Salmon, steelhead trout, and many other wildlife species found on the property
